Odes to togetherness. Created in isolation.

This is an album about togetherness, community & that universal type of love that is beyond mere romantic love and, in the end, beyond any attempted verbal description. It’s about a vision of love as compassionate understanding made manifest. It’s about love as vision, seeing as we wish to be seen. It’s about those profound little moments of connection & spiritual union that are more precious than anything else we experience in this life.

It’s about living through over a year of deadly plague, being forced to live without so many of those loving moments. It’s about how we’ve attempted to make do & maintain our cool without them.

But it’s also about the times I simply walked out of my front door and fell in love with the endless possibility and complexity hidden within every face I saw. It’s about the heights of euphoria and the valleys of disappointment that inevitably follow from our fallible, finite meddling with the infinite, transcendent & universal.

This is also an album about gratitude. More accurately, this is an album about the times that I’ve received the deepest forms of sacrificial love from my friends, family & partners even when I didn’t feel like I was worthy of it. It’s about how that love has transformed and continues to transform me.

This is an album about romantic love and us clumsily falling into it, too, but it’s more so about where we land when we fall. There’s really only one type of true love, after all.

You’re all so beautiful, and since we’re all gonna die someday, I better take this chance to say,
